On April 22, 2023 the Clarkson Equestrian Club hosted a pony rides and petting zoo fundraiser on Cheel Lawn. We were very excited to be able to share a fun day and our horses with students and community members!
Despite the current pandemic, the team was able to have their first group lesson of the year. Even though we will not be competing this semester through IHSA, the team continues to improve their riding abilities to be prepared for our next show season. *All COVID-19 precautions were taken*

The Clarkson Equestrian team has officially completed its first year as an IHSA team! Throughout our first season competing, our riders have won multiple blue ribbons and we place 3rd overall at our November 19th St. Lawrence show. To celebrate, we held our first annual End of Year Banquet with our riders are coaches. It's been a fun and challenging season of horse shows, but we look forward to competing again soon!
Last weekend we competed in our first two horse shows hosted by the Geneseo Equestrian Team. We were extremely successful and learned a lot about the IHSA show system and about how we can improve ourselves.
This coming weekend (November 4th and 5th) we will be showing at Cazenovia's Equestrian facility! We had a fabulous weekend, where five of our members went down to Saratoga for a mini-clinic. We rode with Tammy Johnson, our president's trainer, for a two day clinic. Each day we got the opportunity to ride a different horse and do various flat and gymnastic exercises. A huge thank you to Tammy, as well to Megan's family for hosting the members who were able to attend the clinic. |
